Stromness, in Orkney’s West Mainland, is the second largest town in the islands. All cruise ships arrive at Stromness Pier, right in the heart of this picturesque and historic community.
If you have a pre-booked tour arranged via your ship, you will be escorted to your coach at the appointed time. Tour coaches will be parked at the terminal building on the pier, a short distance from the passenger gangways.
If you have arranged a private tour, your tour operator will park their vehicle close to the passenger gangways. They will normally identify themselves with their own signage.
If you prefer to go and explore Stromness independently, you’ll find all the town’s attractions within easy walking distance of the pier.
